Dryer Vent Cleaning (Free inspection)
Having your dryer vent cleaned is a very important annual task. We experience many customers that are one spark away from rebuilding their home from a disastrous fire. It is so important to have this cleaning performed, that we will not charge if we do not extract any lint or debris from your dryer vent.
Cleaning the dryer vent is typically an easy process. It should take anywhere from 30 to 40 minutes to complete the task. We start the cleaning process at the exit point of the vent. If the vent is on the roof, we clean it from the roof and down to the hookup to your dryer. Vents can also be on a sidewall. It is important to start at the exit point because that is where the most lint buildup occurs. Once this area is clean, then we can clean the entire dryer vent from that point. All of the mess is contained outside, so there isn't anything for you to clean up once the job is complete.
When Should Your Dryer Vent Be Cleaned?
It is recommended that a dryer vent be cleaned at least once a year for safety. If we come to clean your vent and we do not extract any lint or debris, then your service is free of charge.
You may need to have your dryer vent cleaned more often than once a year, especially if you are experiencing any or all of the following:
- Musty smelling towels or clothes after the drying cycle is complete
- Longer drying time than normal (you have to turn the dryer on for more time even after it stops)
- Excessive dust in your laundry room or your home
If you are experiencing any of these issues or it has been a year since your vent was last cleaned, please call 904-288-6955 today to schedule this important cleaning.
There are 15,500 house fires a year caused by dryer vents being clogged up from dryer lint.
